Seven of the 11 web hosts we checked offer phone support: GoDaddy, IONOS, SiteGround, HostPapa, HostArmada, Bluehost and HostGator. The last two leave it off their cheapest plans, so on Bluehost you need Business or higher and on HostGator you need Baby or higher. Hostinger, DreamHost, Namecheap and Liquid Web support customers through chat and tickets, with no published support line.

Which web hosts offer phone support?

Phone support depends on the plan, not just the brand. GoDaddy, IONOS, SiteGround, HostPapa and HostArmada list phone support without a plan restriction. Bluehost and HostGator include it from their second shared tier up. The table shows the cheapest plan that includes a phone line and what you pay for it now and at renewal.

Plans, prices and support channels checked on 15 October 2026 on each host's own site, in USD, excluding tax. Renewal = the price for the same term after the intro period.

What is the cheapest web hosting with phone support?

On the intro price, HostArmada's Start Dock ($2.15/mo on a 1-year term) and HostPapa's Essentials ($2.95/mo on a 3-year term) are the cheapest plans that include phone support. Over time HostPapa is cheaper, because Essentials renews at $8.99/mo against HostArmada's $11.95. IONOS Essential renews lowest of all at $8/mo after a 1-year term, and every IONOS account also gets a named personal consultant.

Is the phone line actually 24/7?

Most hosts in the table say so, with small caveats. Bluehost's contact page advertises US-based phone support around the clock, while one of its help articles lists phone hours of 7 am to midnight ET. GoDaddy says busy periods may route calls to agents outside the US. If round-the-clock calling matters to you, check the support page of the exact plan before you buy.

What do hosts without phone support offer instead?

Live chat, around the clock, at all four. Hostinger adds its Hostinger Agent AI assistant; DreamHost says chats are answered in under 60 seconds and offers a paid callback; Namecheap uses chat and tickets; Liquid Web runs chat and support cases with three levels of server management. In independent testing, DreamHost was also the fastest host for US server response, so a missing phone line is not a sign of a weak host.

Should you pay more for phone support?

Pay for it if a site outage costs you money and you want to talk a problem through with a person. Skip it if you are comfortable describing issues in writing: chat is usually faster to reach and leaves a written record. Either way, compare the renewal price, not the intro price, because the cheapest plan with a phone line is not always the cheapest to keep.

Best for / Not ideal for

Best for: small businesses and non-technical site owners who want to call someone when something breaks.

Not ideal for: buyers who choose a host only because it has phone support on some plan; check that your plan has it.

FAQs

Does Bluehost have phone support?

Yes, but not on the entry Starter plan. Phone support starts with the Business plan, $6.99/mo on a 3-year term, renewing at $13.99/mo.

Does Hostinger have phone support?

No. Hostinger supports customers 24/7 through live chat and its AI assistant, Hostinger Agent.

Which host gives you a personal contact?

IONOS assigns every account a personal consultant on top of 24/7 phone, chat and email support.

Is phone support better than live chat?

Not always. Chat is often quicker to reach and keeps a written record; phone helps when you need to talk through a complex problem.
